About The Role
Peraton is seeking a data-driven, highly skilled, and innovative person for an Operations Research Analyst role in the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) at United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM).
Location: Scott AFB, IL
As part of the Operations Support Division, you will work with a dynamic team of active military, federal government employees, and other contractors to provide crucial analytical support that informs current and near-term global transportation operations for the United States Department of War.

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Key Responsibilities:
- Apply data-driven analysis to USTRANSCOM operations to produce results and recommendations that advance the mission and help USTRANSCOM maximize its performance.
- Transform Joint Distribution and Deployment Enterprise (JDDE) execution, planning, and model data into compelling dashboards, visualizations, and reports.
- Evaluate information sources and curate the optimal blend that provides accurate, relevant, and timely insights for each use case.
- Construct, maintain, and improve data ETL processes in enterprise data environments using a combination of SQL, Python, PySpark, and low-code/no-code tools.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with our USTRANSCOM customers.
- Work proactively to gather analytical requirements and stay aligned with USTRANSCOM needs.
- Collaborate with teammates to facilitate recurring meetings, complex studies, force flow conferences, command exercises, real-world events, and responses to short-term requests for information.
- Communicate processes, results, and recommendations in an understandable manner with audiences of varying competencies.
- Consistently increase knowledge of JDDE operations to improve analyses.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant technological trends.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years relevant experience, or a PhD. The degree should be in one of the following fields: Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in developing high-quality visualizations and reports using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Palantir Foundry, or similar tools.
- Experience in building enterprise-level data ETL processes with large datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to work with imperfect data from numerous sources, solve problems, and deliver valid results.
- Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and effective task prioritization.
- Proactive, self-starter approach to seeking out tasks.
- Perpetual curiosity and motivation for continuous learning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to persist in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Mission-focused and customer-centric mindset.
- Must be a great team player.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in building data transformations and visualizations in Palantir Foundry.
- Proficiency in using SQL, Python, and PySpark for data ETL processes.
- Familiarity with transportation modeling tools and USTRANSCOM information systems.
- Familiarity with Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) and Defense Transportation System (DTS) operations.
