Lead Systems Architect
SUMMARY:
Soliel is seeking a Lead Systems Architect to support enterprise architecture, systems engineering, and technical integration efforts across Department of War (DoW) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) programs. This position serves as a senior technical leader responsible for architecture development, systems integration, technical governance, and engineering support activities within complex enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in DoD enterprise architecture, systems engineering, technical solution development, and architecture modeling using industry-standard frameworks and tools. The candidate must be comfortable operating in collaborative Government environments involving cross-functional technical teams, stakeholder engagement, and evolving mission requirements.
This role requires strong technical leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain architecture and engineering products supporting enterprise modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Architecture & Systems Engineering: Lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise architecture products, technical designs, models, and implementation plans using DoDAF-compliant methodologies and Government-directed tools.
• Solution Development: Evaluate, design, and recommend technical solutions aligned with organizational objectives, cybersecurity requirements, enterprise standards, and operational needs.
• Alternative Analysis: Draft and assess multiple technical solution alternatives using systems engineering and architecture best practices to recommend effective and sustainable approaches.
• Documentation & Visualization: Develop technical documentation, architecture artifacts, engineering analyses, briefing materials, and visual representations that support stakeholder understanding and technical decision-making.
Technical Leadership: Serve as a senior technical expert guiding engineering teams in architecture development, integration planning, technical analysis, and implementation activities.
• Integration & Configuration Management: Support enterprise integration, interoperability planning, requirements traceability, verification and validation activities, and configuration management processes across technical environments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Government leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to support technical reviews, working groups, engineering discussions, and mission-focused solution development.
Required Skills:
• Technical Expertise: At least 10 years of experience in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or software engineering with a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing complex technical solutions within DoD or enterprise environments.
• Architecture Development: Experience developing DoDAF-compliant architecture products, technical designs, workflows, and engineering documentation supporting enterprise modernization and integration initiatives.
• Architecture Tools: Experience using architecture and modeling tools such as Cameo
MagicDraw, SysML, UML, or similar enterprise architecture platforms.
• Systems Integration: Experience supporting enterprise integration activities, interoperability planning, interface coordination, and technical solution implementation across complex environments.
• Documentation & Communication: Strong ability to create detailed technical documentation and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership: Proven experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and supporting architecture governance, engineering reviews, and stakeholder coordination activities.
• Troubleshooting & Analysis: Ability to identify root causes of complex technical issues and coordinate across technical teams to develop and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Skills:
• DoD / DISA Experience: Experience supporting DISA or other Department of War enterprise IT, engineering, or mission systems programs.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise cybersecurity principles, Zero Trust concepts, and secure systems engineering practices.
• Project Management: Experience supporting large-scale technical projects including planning, execution, risk management, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile or iterative engineering and development environments.
• Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills with experience working across cross-functional teams to support technical integration and enterprise modernization efforts.
• Certifications: PMP, ITIL, Certified Scrum Master, architecture-related certifications, or comparable industry credentials.
