Description:The Quality Engineering Associate Manager will be responsible for the following:
• Supervise, lead, and direct the Quality Engineers as they support Orion Assembly, Test, & Launch Operations (ATLO) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) ensuring the build, assembly, and test of all hardware & software meets quality requirements.
• Develop, implement and measure (Metrics) strategies that positively impact Critical Performance Characteristics
• Lead KSC Quality team in tracking and reduction of Q Note non-conformance to maintain green status per LOB goals.
• Provide Weekly Activity Reports to Program Management, highlighting critical activities and major occurrences
• Identify Programmatic Issues, capturing them in a professional concise manner and present them at the month Orion Corrective Action Board
• Lead Root Cause Analysis Events for CARs, Incidents, Qnotes, etc.
• Utilize Data Analytics to identify areas of concern, driving and implementing effective RCCA
• Lead AS9100 Audit preparations as well as perform as site POC
• Review and approval of Drawing Problem Reports, Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews, PO closure, and Lab users' activities.
• Responsible for ensuring the all requirements are met prior to performing Product Acceptance.
• Lead & communicate constraint reviews for testing and manufacturing operations, assuring all Quality constraints are captured and communicated in a professional timely manner
• Provide Quality Overside for Run for Record Testing, Nonconformance Reviews and review of Requirement Verification Reports to support DD250 Deliverables
• Direct respective Quality Engineers to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other internal LM requirements
• Continuously review process methods, procedures, process performance trends, etc., develop, and deploy corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and / or reliability
• Lead the assessment of program readiness to proceed into manufacturing and test operation milestones by presenting readiness status in Manufacturing Readiness Reviews & Test Readiness Reviews
• Enable the quality team to fulfill the team goals through strong communications, providing flow down direction, while energizing, and providing opportunities for training, growth, rotations, as well as mentoring the team.
• Perform as a quality engineering Individual Contributor > 50% of the time
• Review/approve Work Instructions, Test Procedures, Drawings, etc.
• Directly Support Testing Activities (console support, flag review, test run closure)
• Perform Product Acceptance on Flight and Deliverable hardware
• Directly support Floor Operations providing Quality Perspective and Insight to resolve issues
• Ensure adequate Quality resources are scheduled an available to support multiple shifts as needed This position influences program performance and drives quality into all areas through all program phases with an independent focus on Quality and Mission Assurance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Confirmed leadership and organizational skills
• Experience with Excel, metrics, key performance indicators, Tableau, and/or other metrics and data visualization tools
• Experience in aerospace/space programs or equivalent comparable experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.
• Possess a strong use of computer systems related to documenting and tracking work instructions and non-conformances in conjunction with office suite.
• Ability to present technical data to senior leadership on a regular basis will be required.
• Ability to use and develop various data analysis tools to spot and identify trends.
• Strong understanding and ability to execute various Root Cause Corrective Action techniques with a demonstrated history of success.
• Ability to achieve and maintain certification in technical skills as required by the role.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance.
• US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with human spaceflight NASA/DCMA customers
• Spacecraft experience
• Previous Software and Hardware Quality experience
• Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
• Experience with spacecraft processing.
• Ability to develop performance metrics and take appropriate action
• Understanding of export control and ITAR requirements for working with international suppliers
• Knowledge of SAP operating system, VECAMS, EPDM, P2P & Automation Framework
• Experience with working in an ATLO environment
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action analysis
• Experience with Final Acceptance Process (Product Acceptance / Usage Decision)
• Experience in Design/Test Readiness/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experienced with Preliminary Review (PR) and Material Review Board (MRB)
• May be certified in lean, six-sigma quality engineering methodologies and root cause corrective action training/certification
• ASQE certified
• Experience with working in an Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and Production environment
• Experience working with flight aerospace hardware in a clean room setting
• Experience in developing & presenting end item build data to customer preferably in support of DD250 contractual requirements
• Strong verbal, written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities
• Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills.
• Candidate must also demonstrate strong ability to understand and communicate technical issues both verbally and produce detailed presentations on a regular basis.
• An ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
