Acoustic Programs (AP) is a dynamic business within BDS Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) focused on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We are seeking a First-Line Multi-Skill Engineering Manager with acoustics domain experience to join our team in California, MD. The Acoustic Programs portfolio defines, designs, and delivers multiple products primarily targeted at the underwater and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) domain.
In this role, you will support the Acoustic Programs team with day-to-day operations, site management, forward business planning, and program-level cost account management. You will provide status updates to upper management, manage functional personnel, and oversee key program areas.
The Acoustic Programs portfolio includes four main elements: Development, Production, Training Systems, and Advanced Programs. Development Programs cover the full software and system engineering lifecycle-from development and integration with targeted hardware to deployment and maintenance-focused on detecting and tracking underwater targets. Production Programs define, develop, manage suppliers, and maintain hardware supporting the ASW mission on the P-8A platform. Training Systems develop acoustic training components for various mission-level trainers and associated hardware. Advanced Programs support a range of advanced acoustic initiatives, including IR&D, international efforts, new hardware design and development, and new business and cross-Boeing collaborations.

Position Responsibilities:
- Manage employees' day-to-day efforts as well as long-term career goals and performance
- Lead across various Boeing business units, external suppliers, and domestic/international customers
- Support Cost Account Management (CAM) activities with Program Management of Acoustic Programs
- Provide input on program-level business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives
- Support and help direct Acoustic Programs' Long Range Business Plan, IR&D, and new business activities
- Acquire resources for department activities, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
- Maintain, tailor, and improve Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) focused on program goals
- Manage site operations of a small Boeing facility in California, MD
- Interface cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to define and evaluate forward business planning, IRAD, capital, and program priorities
- Oversee and be accountable for the quality and safety of the products and facility
- Support management of staffing and day-to-day logistics for Acoustic Programs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
- Understanding and experience with Program Management Best Practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and refine long-term future business strategies
- Experience working with site and laboratory environments
- Experience interfacing with customers and program leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of site and/or team leadership experience
- Experience with anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW), or maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems
- Experience with and/or support of multiple platforms used to support underwater acoustics, including P-3, P-8A, MH-60R, submarines, and Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs)
- Experience with export-related material and international customers
- Experience on a U.S. Navy program
- Experience with SE/SW execution lifecycle
