Job Description

Nightwing is seeking an experienced Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support a large, multi‑year field support contract for a classified Customer. The DPM will help lead program execution, oversee technical solutions, strengthen customer relationships, and support employee growth. This role requires the ability to apply deep technical and program management expertise across multiple unique Task Orders, while engaging daily with the Sponsor and key stakeholders to ensure evolving mission needs are understood and met.
The DPM is responsible for supporting financial, schedule, and technical performance, as well as leading coordinated on‑contract growth activities. Additional responsibilities include participation in internal and external program reviews, direct customer engagement, proposal development, supplier management, and program status reporting. The role includes defining program milestones, tracking performance against plans, and ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
This position requires on‑site work in the Dulles area, at a Nightwing facility with access to closed-area spaces and Customer networks.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the Program Manager in supervising performance across multiple contract locations
- Work with cross‑functional, cross‑Mission Area, and multi‑company teams to translate customer needs and technology trends into cost‑effective technical solutions
- Partner with functional leaders to drive execution and meet all program milestones
- Plan, budget, and manage resources to meet contract requirements
- Implement core program management processes, including EVMS and Risk & Opportunity management
- Lead financial forecasting and planning activities, including AOP and EAC reviews
- Draft daily, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Develop and deliver executive‑level briefings to senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and the Customer
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with industry partners, Customers, and other stakeholders
- Manage subcontractor relationships
- Serve as the primary contractor point of contact for Customer Program Managers, PMO personnel, and partner teams when the Program Manager is unavailable
Required Skills:
- Eight plus years of progressive experience in technical and program leadership positions of programs >50M in value
- Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the Customer environment, specifically how it relates to field communications both classified and unclassified, expeditionary, enterprise and non-traditional
- Experience successfully managing schedule, resources, and budgets across a dispersed program team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to timely implement new solutions
- Strong inter-personal skills and demonstrated ability to work across diverse groups of people and at all levels of an organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - Experience in preparing and delivering briefings for customers and senior management
- Strong leadership and team-building skills including leading matrixed teams
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- Experience managing subcontractors for both goods and services.
Desired Skills:
- PMP Certification
- Experience with Sharepoint, and/or other data management and visualization tools.
- Experience conducting OCONUS operations
