Aquila Technology is looking for a highly skilled Systems Administrator to support one of the nation's leading defense research organizations. They System Administrator will support the development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies. The team addresses the needs of next-generation satellite, airborne, and terrestrial networks using its core expertise in radio frequency (RF), fiber and free-space optics, cyber security, network protocols and services, information operations, communications processing, and speech and language technologies. The team is extensively involved in field experimentation and measurement campaigns to verify algorithms and architectural concepts in operational environments.

Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.
Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) -Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.
Clearance Level: Due to the nature of the work, an active Secret clearance is required for the start of the program. This person will need to upgrade to a Top Secret clearance once onboarded.
Work Location: Candidate must be 100% onsite from the first day of assignment. There may be some flexibility down the road for partial remote work, but it is dependent upon the nature of the projects being worked on.

What You Will Bring:
- 3-4 years of Linux systems administration and desktop support experience
- Experience and familiarity with the following operating systems - RHEL 7, RHEL 8, RHEL 9, Windows Server 2019, Windows 10.
- Experience working on Mac systems.
- The ability to Collaborate with team members in order to complete assigned tasks/projects.
- Experience managing and tracking issues with ticketing program (Remedy, Service Now, Jira, etc)
- Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
- BS degree or equivalent experience. Any prior military experience is a plus. They will modify the years of experience if someone has the majority of the technical skills and a military background.
- Demonstrated experience with CMMC compliance, best practice and technical controls
Preferred Skills:
- Any Unix/Solaris experience is a plus.
- Experience managing classified IT systems, STIGs, SCAPS, RMF
- Experience maintaining directory services. (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, etc.).
- Managing AFS infrastructure to include users, groups and data.
- Managing lifecycles of equipment to include computers, servers and mobility
- Configuring and managing Cisco/Juniper equipment to include switches, routers and Call Managers.
- Troubleshooting mobile devices to included iPhones, iPads
- Basic experience with managing or operating containers
- Experience with virtual machines. (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare vSphere, Citrix XenDesktop/Server, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, etc.).
- Experience managing system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
- Able to diagnose and perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
- Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
- Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
- Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing.
- Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support

- Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Clearance Level: Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
- 3 years - Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot system/server hardware
- 3 years - Equipment lifecycle management (computers, servers and mobility)
- 3 years - Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers
- 3 years - Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures
