About The Role
Peraton is seeking a versatile Data & Business Analyst / Data Engineer to support the modernization of two existing enterprise business applications. This hybrid role bridges technical data engineering responsibilities with business analysis activities, ensuring that data, processes, and system capabilities are accurately understood, modernized, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate can move fluidly between analyzing legacy workflows, translating business needs, developing data solutions, and supporting the migration to a modern architecture.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking a versatile Data & Business Analyst / Data Engineer to support the modernization of two existing enterprise business applications. This hybrid role bridges technical data engineering responsibilities with business analysis activities, ensuring that data, processes, and system capabilities are accurately understood, modernized, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate can move fluidly between analyzing legacy workflows, translating business needs, developing data solutions, and supporting the migration to a modern architecture.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform data profiling, discovery, and mapping across legacy systems.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data models to support modernization.
- Document data flows, lineage, and transformation rules.
- Analyze business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
- Create user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and testing during migration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define future-state data needs and workflows.
- Produce dashboards, reports, and metrics to measure modernization progress.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS Diploma
- Strong SQL skills; experience with Python or similar languages.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to document requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have active Public Trust clearance
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working across both technical and business domains.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced modernization environments.
- Experience with application modernization or cross-system integration.
- Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps practices and workflow tools.
- Knowledge of data governance, modeling, and analytics tools.
