Program Overview
Peraton provides the customer with enterprise infrastructure support to plan, engineer, implement, enhance, maintain and operate the global consular affairs IT environment.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications and services globally.
The Business Analyst is a self-directed team member responsible for understanding business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting the development of effective solutions. The Business Analyst will apply strong analytical skills to evaluate processes, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and ensure clear communication between stakeholders and technical teams. This role will also support the tracking of work items, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to help mature the program.
Responsibilities
Work Location: Must be local to Washington, DC area. This position is currently hybrid with remote work and up to 2 days per week in the Peraton office in Sterling, VA, and/or customer site in Washington, DC. The number of days in office is subject to change based on program or government requirements.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document business needs, requirements, and workflows to support the delivery of effective solutions.
- Assess stakeholder priorities and translate them into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
- Develop comprehensive, executive-level dashboards and reports that convey key program metrics, progress, and issues to leadership.
- Support project planning by defining scope, identifying dependencies, tracking milestones, and ensuring requirements alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Configure and maintain Jira workflows, boards, dashboards, filters, and automations to support requirements tracking, reporting, and process transparency.
- Collaborate with technical and program leadership to monitor work progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and recommend continuous process improvements to enhance program performance.
- Demonstrate flexibility by managing multiple tasks, adjusting priorities, and meeting tight or changing deadlines.
- Proactively move analysis and documentation efforts forward in a fast-paced environment, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Use strong written and verbal communication skills to create and present clear, concise business and technical documentation to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Transition seamlessly between working independently with minimal supervision and collaborating closely as part of a team.
- Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with government customers and cross-functional- contract teams to understand needs and deliver value.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
- Strong understanding of business analysis principles and demonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and managing requirements across complex projects.
- Experience working in project management for software development, database management, infrastructure, or network environment projects.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain governance structures, reports, dashboards, performance metrics, and knowledge management- tools using platforms such as Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences and influence decision-makers.
- Proven experience providing operational and analytical support in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Experience applying industry standards, best practices, and process improvement methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting or leading high visibility- initiatives within a federal contracting or IT modernization environment.
- Experience using ServiceNow for IT service management, request management, incident tracking, or similar functions.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, or project/Agile-relate-d certifications (PMP, PMIACP, SAFe-, CSM)
