In this role, you will:
- Assist with monitoring and performing routine health checks of critical network infrastructure and systems.
- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support for daily operations, including basic infrastructure maintenance, system patching, and help desk ticket resolution.
- Support incident response activities by performing initial troubleshooting, communication, and basic reporting under the guidance of senior administrators.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to learn about and assist with engineering support activities.
- Provide ancillary support to security teams, learning how to conduct basic system security assessments to validate compliance.
- Work with your team to follow established processes and assist in identifying areas for system optimization.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Associate's Degree in an IT-related field, or a recent Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, etc.).
- Some relevant IT experience or equivalent academic/internship experience.
- Must possess, or obtain within six months of hire, a DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security).
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn endpoint management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for basic application deployment and patch management.
- Basic understanding of Windows updates and enterprise patch management concepts (exposure to WSUS is a plus).
- Foundational knowledge of virtualization concepts; exposure to VMware vSphere/ESXi environments or basic VM provisioning is highly desired.
- Experience supporting Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10/11) and a basic understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory fundamentals, and DNS.
- An interest in learning scripting languages for automation (e.g., basic PowerShell or Bash).
- Exposure to basic IT monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Ability to learn quickly, work in fast-paced enterprise environments, and support large-scale infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude, with the ability to break down problems, ask the right questions, and collaborate on solutions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document troubleshooting steps and solutions clearly.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Certificate Services / PKI Implementation to include deployment and management of Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), certificate enrollment, auto-enrollment, templates, and lifecycle management, understanding of SSL/TLS, CRLs, OCSP, and certificate-based authentication.
- Ansible to include developing, maintaining, and optimizing Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and automated deployments, troubleshooting automation failures and improving CI/CD workflow and implementing infrastructure-as-code best practices across Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange to include the administration of exchange on-prem or hybrid environments, managing mail flow, transport rules, mailbox provisioning, troubleshooting, support migrations, patching, and high-availability configurations.
