Job Description
LightGrid is Hiring a Network Engineer (VoIP Installer) to work in Colorado Springs, CO.
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required
• Understanding of VoIP communications
Security + certification is required.
• Understanding of LAN/WAN, VoIP environment and routing protocols
• Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to pass security background check to access military facility
Please note: This is short term role that will end on Jan 1 , 2027.
The Network, VoIP install is responsible for installing VoIP phones within the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role supports the deployment of VoIP phones, shifting Analog phones to VoIP phones. Requirements are to identify Analog phones to shift to VoIP phone system, tracing phone lines, resolving connectivity issues, and implementing improvements that align with new VoIP infrastructure. The position is essential for maintaining reliable communication across the U.S. Air Force Academy sites.
Should be familiar with: and experienced in:
SYSTEM MIGRATION - OPERATIONAL TRUNK MIGRATION
• CALL RECORDING FOR SECONDARY CRASH, SYSTEM MIGRATION - PHONE SERVICES, AND OPTIONAL DECOMMISSIONING
• Physical PRI Circuit Rehome
• Analog Phone Service Migration
• PRI Trunk Migration
• Line Tracing
• Deploy VoIP network phones
• Introducing phones and ensuring network performance reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, and hardware failures
• Maintain network documentation of deployed VoIP phones (confirm via CAIRS tool)
