Job Description

Duties

  • You will conduct mishap investigations of accident and injuries as required by current guidelines.
  • You will establish procedures for reporting all accidents and maintain accident records.
  • You will evaluate accident data to detect trends and common patterns.
  • You will develop and conduct comprehensive safety education programs through formal training sessions, guest lectures, and discussions.
  • You will publicize safety articles and disseminate safety educational materials throughout the command.
  • You will develop instructional and evaluation materials for use in instructional programs.
  • You will develop and revise safety and occupational health instructions, rules and regulations.
  • You will ensure accident prevention measures and procedures for building areas and equipment meet or exceed safety standards.
  • You will ensure the health and safety of staff and students by performing regular safety assessments, walkthroughs and assessments.
  • You will initiate abatement action as needed for safety discrepancies and track them until they are abated/corrected.
  • You will conduct high-risk training mishap investigations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications

our resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Planning, organizing, administering and evaluating Safety, Occupational Heath, and Environmental program in a training environment; 2) Developing safety education for supervisors and employees to apply safe work practices and accept changes or modifications to achieve a safe work environment; 3) Evolving effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities; 4) Progressing effective controls, and evaluation processes for the High Risk Training program.
