Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Planning, organizing, administering and evaluating Safety, Occupational Heath, and Environmental program in a training environment; 2) Developing safety education for supervisors and employees to apply safe work practices and accept changes or modifications to achieve a safe work environment; 3) Evolving effective controls of work and equipment hazards resulting from new construction or modification of current facilities; 4) Progressing effective controls, and evaluation processes for the High Risk Training program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

- You will conduct mishap investigations of accident and injuries as required by current guidelines.
- You will establish procedures for reporting all accidents and maintain accident records.
- You will evaluate accident data to detect trends and common patterns.
- You will develop and conduct comprehensive safety education programs through formal training sessions, guest lectures, and discussions.
- You will publicize safety articles and disseminate safety educational materials throughout the command.
- You will develop instructional and evaluation materials for use in instructional programs.
- You will develop and revise safety and occupational health instructions, rules and regulations.
- You will ensure accident prevention measures and procedures for building areas and equipment meet or exceed safety standards.
- You will ensure the health and safety of staff and students by performing regular safety assessments, walkthroughs and assessments.
- You will initiate abatement action as needed for safety discrepancies and track them until they are abated/corrected.
- You will conduct high-risk training mishap investigations.
