Job Description

Delta Solutions and Strategies is seeking highly skilled and motivated candidates to join a high-performance team and provide support to US Space Command J779 Lessons Learned Branch as a Joint Training and Exercise Planning and Assessment Subject Matter Expert in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this role, you will support USSPACECOM to execute all activities in the Design, Planning, Preparation, Execution, and Analysis, Evaluation, and Report phases of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).

What you will be doing:

  • Perform high level analysis through quantitative/qualitative research, independent evaluations of operations, exercises, wargames and experimentations to assess the effectiveness of DOTMLPF&P throughout the Command and develop standards for new and/or existing requirements to alter training or operational missions and programs. Plan, develop, execute, and analyze joint assessments, future concepts, studies/research, and lessons learned for wargames, TTXs, ROC drills, and seminars.
  • Coordinate with USSPACECOM staff, subordinate commands, and other CCMDS to provide focus area study recommendations, command synchronization efforts and feedback findings. Document special project staff roles, responsibilities, organization and processes for best practices and efficiencies that support the Command's Mission and Vision.
  • Compile Before Action Reports, After Action Reports, Executive Summaries, Post Activity Bulletins, Requests for Information, and Corrective Action Plans. Documentation shall be complete and include substantiated findings and recommendations, consistent with high level of quality control and distribution ready.
  • You'll create dashboards, charts, and status reports to inform leadership and perform initial analysis, identify trends, and provide data-driven summaries turning raw data into usable information.
  • Provide JECG augmentation, support design and conduct of CJCS SAV training events, provide feedback for AARs, create, and prepare media, and manage inputs for JMETL and integrate with UJTL and use JTT, DRRS and JLLIS, as needed.
  • Serve as an exercise observer/trainer/assessor, coordinate and configure equipment systems, support execution of the Joint Training & Execution System, and design and conduct space exercise events including GIE, Global Lightning, Austere Challenge, Large-Scale Global Exercise, Pacific Sentry, Pacific Fury, USSPACECOM Tier-1 exercises and Advanced Battle Management System on-ramps.

What you will need:

  • Experience in initiating and/or developing Government specified content for USSPACECOM J7 joint exercises, tabletop exercises and rehearsal of concept drills, or similar and relevant Combatant Command experience.
  • Demonstrated capability initiating, supervising, and developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; providing detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges at a strategic level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to brief/interactive with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians.
  • Experience coordinating plans between internal and external staff agencies to ensure a coherent effort.
  • Current/relevant space/joint space operations knowledge and background.
  • Previous experience on a Combatant Command, MAJCOM, HHQ, Joint Staff, OSD etc. staff desired.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required; 15+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Completion of JPME I is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred.
  • Current Top Secret clearance with SCI, ACCM and SAP eligibility.
