Job Description

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Join our team in beautiful Phoenix, AZ, where you can enjoy year-round sunshine while contributing to essential telecommunications infrastructure. As part of our team, you will:
  • Inspect Outside Plant based on applicable schedules.
  • Understand applicable State, NESC standards and regulations.
  • Identify high-risk geographic regions and driving factors.
  • Assign infractions with relevant levels of severity.
  • Enter information into the database.
  • Review make-ready work with contractors as needed.
  • Issue work to construction contractors and Locate vendors as required.
  • Coordinate Client Service Drop conversions, such as getting off jump poles or other poles where clearances cannot be met to remove a violation.
  • Participate in ordering materials for various vendors and/or forecasting material needs.
  • Inspect and perform quality control on contractor work.
  • Complete as-built mapping.
  • Assist in locating and quality controlling client's facilities.


Qualifications

Minimum

  • HS diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience preferred in a related field (e.g., OSP Construction; Field Ops).
  • Valid driver's license meeting company standards.
  • Ability to walk in un-level areas and for long distances.
  • Capable of standing for several hours while performing duties for extended periods.
  • Ability to read and understand printed and digital telecommunication utility maps.
  • Proficient in operating a computer with Microsoft applications and other necessary software related to construction services.


Preferred

  • 2-3 years of general knowledge of aerial and underground telecommunications facilities construction.
  • Basic HFC/fiber design knowledge is helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of construction standards and applicable codes for the area.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications aerial and underground construction practices.
  • Understanding of NESC and/or local codes that pertain to utility construction.
