Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing ship or ship system programs (e.g., Navy maintenance concepts, maintenance task scheduling) to develop maintenance or modernization project plans for process improvement.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. This position has a control point; thus, the salary range may be capped at GS-13, Step 05, which is equivalent to $122,422. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

- You will provide direction and implementation guidance for technical program management decisions to integrate maintenance planning functions in all phases for the surface ship acquisition life cycle.
- You will perform studies that improve the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, products, organizations, manpower use, distribution of work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, etc.
- You will plan and conduct comprehensive studies and reviews of subjects that often are several organizational levels in depth.
- You will develop criteria in support of analysis related to the full cycle of planning and execution for Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWPs).
- You will recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and economy of managing organizations and employees to accomplish mission objectives within cognizant Navy command, field activity and contractor manufacturing facilities.
