Job Description
Amentum is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to serve as the operational backbone for the C5ISR Prototyping Integration Facility at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This role is the central link between internal engineering teams, buyers, and vendors. We are looking for a professional with a proven track record in high-volume inventory coordination, shipment tracking, and financial reconciliation-someone who thrives in fast-paced environments where accuracy and "cradle-to-grave" oversight are critical to mission success.

Compensation Details:

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Requirements & Requisition Management: Review incoming purchase requests for completeness. Translate internal needs into formal purchase requisitions (PRs) within our ERP system, ensuring accurate line-item pricing and specifications.
- Inventory & Shipment Coordination: Manage the flow of materials from vendors to the APG integration facility. You will track shipments, verify receipt against orders, and ensure all components are ready for the production floor.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers to expedite orders and resolve discrepancies. You will communicate daily with leadership and external partners to prevent delays in the prototyping process.
- Meticulous Record Keeping: Maintain master tracking spreadsheets (Excel) to monitor order status from creation to delivery. Ensure all operational documentation and financial data are reconciled and audit-ready.
- Operational Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential shipping delays or order errors and work with cross-functional teams to find solutions before they impact the warfighter.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in high-volume operations, logistics, or administrative support (e.g., Merchandise Coordination, Inventory Lead, or Procurement Support).
- Inventory & Logistics Skills: Proven ability to coordinate shipments, manage stock levels, and perform "cradle-to-grave" tracking of goods.
- Financial & Data Accuracy: Strong experience in financial reconciliation (e.g., balancing transactions, cost monitoring, and reconciling shipment discrepancies).
- Technical Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formulas, and tracker management) and exposure to ERP or inventory management software.
- Security: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or "Key Carrier" role with responsibility for opening/closing operations and maintaining compliance.
- Strong background in customer relationship management (CRM) and vendor coordination.
- A graduate of a 2-year technical school.
