The Facilities & Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining the operational readiness, safety, and functionality of our customer. This role supports technical maintenance, project coordination, space management, vendor oversight, and service ticket administration. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Overview
The Facilities & Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining the operational readiness, safety, and functionality of our customer. This role supports technical maintenance, project coordination, space management, vendor oversight, and service ticket administration. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
Technical & Maintenance Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic construction tasks and the safe use of hand tools (e.g., drills, screwdrivers).
- Perform physical tasks such as hanging or removing pictures, seals, signage, and office décor.
- Conduct routine building inspections and maintain an accurate, up-to-date log of findings.
- Execute and schedule preventive maintenance inspections for critical systems, including UPS units and Server Room environments.
- Monitor lifecycle management for facility equipment, including HVAC systems and UPS components.
- Coordinate generator maintenance activities with COPT to ensure operational readiness.
- Oversee parking lot maintenance and general facility upkeep to maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Develop, maintain, and track project schedules.
- Collaborate with Directorates to gather, define, and initiate project requirements.
- Coordinate furniture installations, office moves, and workspace reconfigurations.
- Maintain accurate space documentation and support optimized space utilization across the facility.
- Input service tickets into the property management system within 24 hours of receiving a request.
- Manage service tickets through completion, including timely follow-up and status updates to the requester.
- Coordinate 1306 Concourse conference room reservations for DC3 personnel through property management.
- Oversee custodial and cleaning services, including implementing new service requests as needed.
- Escort vendors performing work in construction zones or restricted areas to ensure compliance with access protocols.
- Supervise same-day vendors performing mechanical or facility repairs and provide oversight for multi-day projects (typically 2-3 days).
- Ensure all vendor activities adhere to facility safety, security, and operational standards.

- Education: Associate' degree and 10+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience, or 3+ years with PhD. However, 4 years of additional relevant experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices and facility operations.
- Ability to serve as a primary liaison between DC3 personnel and property management.
- Experience coordinating vendors, service providers, or maintenance teams is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and safely operate basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
