Electrical Engineer

McLeansville, NC

Pay Estimated: $52.77 - $57.77/Hour

Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering to develop, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and systems. The role involves participating in requirements analysis, design, integration, and verification processes, as well as supporting technical reviews and root cause analysis. The Electrical Engineer works within defined processes and collaborates with project leaders, program managers, and external customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-voltage DC power systems and converters (watts to kW+) for undersea communication applications
  • Perform analog and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis using advanced CAD tools
  • Develop and optimize power architectures, grounding strategies, and control/feedback systems
  • Conduct circuit design, testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis at component and system levels
  • Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) for validation and debugging
  • Create technical documentation, including specifications, requirements, and verification procedures
  • Support R&D initiatives to advance power electronics and undersea system technologies
  • Lead or contribute to design reviews and cross-functional engineering efforts


Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Abiliity to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field and 5+ years (Bachelor's) or 3+ years (Master's) in relevant electrical/power design roles
  • High Voltage DC (HVDC) power systems and power electronics design
  • Analog and mixed-signal circuit design & analysis
  • Power converter topologies (low power to kW+)
  • Feedback and control systems
  • Power system architecture and grounding
  • Circuit troubleshooting and failure isolation
  • Use of electrical CAD tools and simulation software
  • Test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
  • Requirements development and verification processes
