SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Engineering Technician V - Lead Trainer to support the Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) effort. The Lead Trainer will serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) responsible for developing, managing, and executing comprehensive training programs that ensure personnel are proficient in the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of mission-critical systems. This individual will work closely with government customers, program leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver world-class training solutions aligned with MESR program objectives and mission readiness requirements.
This will be an ON-SITE role in San Diego, CA. MUST be local to the area.

This individual will work closely with government customers, program leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver world-class training solutions aligned with MESR program objectives and mission readiness requirements.

JOB DUTIES:
- Lead and manage all training development and delivery activities in support of the MESR program, ensuring alignment with program milestones, contractual requirements, and government customer expectations.
- Design, develop, and implement instructor-led training (ILT), and blended learning solutions for complex mission-essential systems, subsystems, and associated MESR equipment.
- Serve as the primary POC for all training-related activities between SAIC, government stakeholders, and subcontractor teams, providing regular status updates and briefings to program leadership.
- Develop and maintain Training Plans, Training Management Plans (TMPs), Lesson Plans, Training Support Packages (TSPs), and associated training documentation in accordance with applicable standards
- Coordinate and schedule training events, exercises, and evaluations, ensuring all logistics, facilities, equipment, and personnel are properly resourced and prepared.
- Mentor and supervise junior trainers, instructional designers, and training support staff, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, after-action reviews (AARs), and feedback mechanisms; continuously improve training programs based on findings.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations, safety requirements, and program-specific training standards.
- Support system fielding activities, including new equipment training (NET) and new equipment fielding (NEF) events at CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, logisticians, and program managers to ensure training materials accurately reflect current system configurations, technical manuals, and operational procedures.
- Maintain training records and metrics, providing regular reporting to program management and government customers on training completion rates, readiness levels, and identified deficiencies.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in engineering, training development, and/or systems training, with at least 4 years in a lead or senior training role supporting DoD programs.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance required to start
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training for complex military or government systems, including hardware, software, and integrated systems.
- Strong knowledge of Navy, DoD, service training doctrine, regulations, and standards
- Experience supporting New Equipment Training (NET) events and system fielding activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to brief senior government officials and military leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and training development tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or equivalent).
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including potential OCONUS travel.
