Role Overview
We are seeking a System Safety Engineer II to support system safety activities in alignment with MIL?STD?882E standards. This onsite role involves collaborating with crossfunctional engineering teams to ensure system safety requirements, hazard controls, and overall program safety objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
System Safety Program Support
Assist in executing one or more MILSTD882E compliant system safety programs.
Review engineering hardware, electrical drawings, and schematics to assess fault tolerance, potential hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
Review test procedures and operating/maintenance procedures to ensure appropriate administrative controls.
Work collaboratively with integrated product teams to remove identified hazards or develop effective controls.
Support development of innovative solutions that enhance safety without compromising system performance.
Responsibilities to Anticipate
Assist in defining clear, testable safety requirements or evaluating existing requirements.
Support performance of System Safety Program or design analyses.
Collaborate with crossdisciplinary teams throughout technical execution phases.
Interface with stakeholders including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.
Assist in preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefings for customer review and approval.
Support safety presentations during technical reviews and approval processes.
Review and interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
Assist in preparing internal and customerfacing reports related to system safety analyses.
This is 12 months Full- time- contract with possible hire opportunity.
Clearance: Active Secret
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
(Advanced degrees may be considered as equivalent experience.)
Experience in Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Firmware Engineering.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience working with DoD System Safety Programs
Exposure to system or software safety implementation in an Agile development environment.
Experience supporting Human Systems Integration or applying MIL?STD?1472 Human Factors Engineering principles.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development.
Understanding of processes such as Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, and System Safety Working Groups.
Pay Range:$72/hr.- $75/hr.
