Overview
We are seeking a mission-focused Systems Administrator with strong Windows Server and AWS GovCloud (US) experience to support classified Department of Defense environments. This role is ideal for a cleared professional who thrives in secure, compliance-driven infrastructures and enjoys hands-on operational ownership.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain AWS GovCloud (US) environments supporting classified workloads (IL4/IL5/IL6)
Manage and support Windows Server–based systems in classified environments
Ensure compliance with RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800‑53, and FedRAMP High
Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and KMS
Implement and enforce Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and strong IAM practices
Perform system patching, backups, vulnerability remediation, and compliance scanning using ACAS, SCAP, and other approved tools
Support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring efforts
Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting; integrate with SIEM tools such as Splunk or ELK
Provide Tier 3 support, conduct root cause analysis, and assist with incident response
Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
Required Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
IAT Level II or III certification (Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent)
3+ years of hands-on Systems Administration experience
Strong experience with Windows Server administration
Working knowledge of AWS GovCloud (US) services
Experience operating in classified or highly regulated environments
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs, NIST)
Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation)
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting IL5 or IL6 classified workloads
Familiarity with AWS Organizations and Service Control Policies (SCPs)
Exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, or container platforms (ECS/EKS)
Experience working with DISA assessments or CCRI events
GIS / Geospatial / ESRI experience is a strong plus
