The Erebus Program is a newly awarded 7-year effort that delivers cutting-edge intelligence and geospatial data management applications and services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). As the premier geospatial intelligence program globally, Erebus supports over 14,000 intelligence analysts and decision-makers at 50 distinct locations worldwide.
The Program's focus is on meeting the current mission needs of our customer, but also pioneering future automation solutions for the NGA based on agency directives. We are developing innovative, machine-generated, and system-augmented geospatial analysis and production capabilities that will revolutionize the way intelligence is distributed to stakeholders. The selected candidate will be a member of the Erebus Operations Support Team located at the NGA headquarters facility in Springfield, VA.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Monitor system health, analyze logs for errors, and resolve performance issues
• Interface directly with end users to triage incidents, gather diagnostic information, and communicate resolution progress to ensure operational continuity.
• Develop and troubleshoot shell scripts to automate routine tasks
• Manage user accounts, software licenses, certificates, and system documentation
• Support software updates, system upgrades, enterprise testing activities, and team training initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex system problems
The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret clearance required for consideration
• Demonstrated communication skills with user communities
• Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) system administration
• Working knowledge of multi-OS environments (Linux, AIX, Windows), network architecture, and COTS software maintenance
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) from an accredited institution
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+)
• Advanced IT certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, Linux+)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
