Description:You will be the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff for an Advanced Programs weapon program supporting Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) development. Our team is responsible for developing and implementing detailed designs and layouts of the air vehicle system, driving innovation and excellence in the field.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
* Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
* Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
* Managing drawing releases and CN's of the mechanical design team,
* Generating design review artifacts for subsystem and system-level design assurance, PDRs, and CDRs
* Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, optical performance, and structural/thermal benefits
* Interfacing directly with avionics, structures, propulsion, and subsystem manufacturers to ensure product integrity in accordance with design requirements, performance, and test parameters, as well as design reviews and deliverables are achieved on schedule

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.
Minimum 5 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software
Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
Have the ability to guide major projects to completion and engage with senior personnel on significant matters
Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to senior personnel
Desired Skills:
Hands-on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3-D printers, test rigs)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
Comprehensive understanding of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
