Job Description
About the Role
This is a leadership position for someone who thrives with autonomy. As the senior on-site authority during night shift, you'll own the full scope of production operations - from scheduling and execution to safety, quality, and team performance - with minimal overhead support. If you're the kind of leader who runs toward problems instead of waiting for direction, this role was built for you.
What You'll Do
Lead Night Shift Operations
You are the decision-maker on shift. You'll oversee production execution end-to-end, ensuring output targets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
Drive the Schedule
Assess daily production needs, build and manage the schedule, and keep product availability and shipping commitments on track.
Improve Performance Continuously
You'll own efficiency metrics, track downtime, and lead improvement initiatives. You're expected not just to spot problems, but to fix them - recommending changes to materials, workflows, and facilities when needed.
Troubleshoot in Real Time
When equipment, processes, or facilities have issues, you resolve them. You'll coordinate with maintenance and management to minimize downtime and maintain a safe environment.
Use Data to Lead
Analyze production metrics to identify trends, surface issues early, and make informed decisions that keep the floor moving.
Own Safety - Completely
During night shift, EHS accountability is yours. You'll lead emergency response, manage escalations, and maintain a safe environment in the absence of on-site safety leadership.
Support Cross-Functional Teams
Provide on-site guidance to quality, distribution, and technical staff during off-hours, keeping functions aligned and issues moving up the chain when needed.
Who You'll Lead
You'll manage a large night-shift team - production associates and leads - with full supervisory responsibility: coaching, performance evaluations, scheduling, and input into hiring and termination decisions.
What You Bring
Experience & Education
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a consumer goods or manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of independence and accountability
• Associate degree in manufacturing, business management, or equivalent
Skills
• Strong leadership instincts with the ability to manage large teams under pressure
• Sound, confident decision-making in fast-moving, safety-critical environments
• Conflict management - assertive and composed
• Clear communicator, both one-on-one and in front of a group
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel especially); comfortable with operational data and reporting
• General mechanical/equipment knowledge relevant to manufacturing operations
Why This Role
If you want a supervisory role where you're actually in charge - not just monitoring - this is it. Night shift here means real authority, real accountability, and real opportunity to make your mark on production performance.
