Job Description
Join BAE Systems and help advance the software that supports one of the nation's most enduring and capable reconnaissance aircraft. As part of the U-2 program, you'll work on mission critical software that enhances self-protection and situational awareness for the warfighter, keeping it safe in contested environments. We are looking for an experienced software engineer with leadership potential to join our team as Deputy Software Manager. This position offers the chance to make a lasting impact on one of the most legendary programs in the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) portfolio while advancing your own career.
In this blended role, you will provide technical contributions while developing your leadership skills. You will spend about half of your time focusing on hands-on design, coding, and integration; and the other half working closely with the Software Manager mentoring engineers, guiding software execution, and preparing to step into the Software Engineering Lead position.
What You'll Do
This role offers a clear path from hands-on engineering to technical and team leadership within one of BAE Systems' most stable and impactful programs. You will gain mentorship from experienced leaders, shape advanced software capabilities for the U-2 platform, and help develop the engineers who will carry the mission forward.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role/program, the expectation is that this job will be performed fully on site in Nashua, NH.
