Overview
Job Title: Joint SOF Operations and Plans SME Location: MacDill AFB, FL Overview:Rivet Operations Company is seeking a Joint SOF Operations and Plans SME to support MacDill Air Force Base in training readiness integration and governance. The Joint SOF Operations and Plans SME serves in a critical advisory role, assisting senior leaders and joint battle staff in planning, execution, and assessment of full-spectrum SOF training and readiness activities. Provides governance-aligned readiness insight and functional expertise to enhance the force's ability to integrate, synchronize, and execute joint operations. Responsibilities:
• Advise, coach, mentor, and assess across the SOF enterprise without performing staff execution roles
• Support joint collective training and readiness events across USSOCOM, MSCs, JSOC, and GCCs
• Provide command-level readiness insight, decision support, and integration guidance
• Support all phases of SOF battle staff training: pre-event planning, execution, and post-event analysis
• Recommend improvements to planning systems, battle rhythm flows, information routing, and risk logic
• Track unit, staff, and enterprise-level readiness trends over time
• Support development of Master Scenario Events Lists (MSELs) and after-action reports
• Provide technical support for Fires, ISR, C5I, Information Operations, Targeting, and Operational Design
• Personnel must be available for CONUS and OCONUS travel to support training and readiness events.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• 15+ years of Special Operations experience
• Former O-5+/CW3+/E-9+
• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years Joint/Combatant Command/Service HQ/USSOCOM HQ staff experience
• 2+ years Joint SOF crisis response operations aligned to PPD-30/NSPM-36
• Direct and enduring support to battle staff planning, training, or execution activities
• Expertise in JOPP, JELC, JTS, JTT, and DRRS systems
• Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues
• Must be proficient in the use of Power Point, Excel, Word, Access, (Outlook Microsoft Office Suite) Security: Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the position.
