Paralegal (Public Trust) - Civil Division
Denver, Colorado | Onsite
Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Federal Holidays Observed)
Security Clearance: Active Public Trust Required

Join the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), District of Colorado, and play a vital role in representing the federal government in high-impact civil litigation. We are seeking two detail-driven Paralegals to support our Civil Division in Denver. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful legal work that directly serves the public interest.

What You'll Do
As a Paralegal supporting Assistant United States Attorneys, you'll be at the center of complex civil cases-helping manage, analyze, and prepare critical legal materials. Your work will directly support litigation efforts on behalf of the federal government.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and review large volumes of emails, records, and legal documents
  • Track court deadlines and manage case files efficiently
  • Conduct factual and legal research; draft summaries and memoranda
  • Prepare pleadings, exhibits, and visual materials for hearings and presentations
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets and databases
  • Collaborate with federal agencies to gather and organize case information
  • Provide litigation support using various legal and presentation software tools
  • Assist with document production, exhibit preparation, and courtroom materials
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned


What You Bring
  • Relevant paralegal or legal support experience (civil litigation preferred)
  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software tools
  • Experience reviewing large document sets is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment


Education & Professional Background
To be competitive for this role, you will hold:
  • A Paralegal Certificate
  • An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Paralegal Studies
  • A Bachelor's degree combined with relevant professional experience


Work Environment & Equipment
  • Onsite role at: 1801 California St., Suite 1600, Denver, CO 80202
  • Office setting with standard equipment provided (computer, phone)
  • Occasional physical activity (walking, standing, bending, and carrying light office materials)


Security Requirements
  • Must have an active Department of Justice Public Trust clearance
  • Resume must clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, certifications, and work history
