Role Summary
Seeking a Technical Architect to support a large-scale federal healthcare program in a complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for advancing, governing, and maintaining the Technical Reference Architecture (TRA) across multiple systems and workstreams, ensuring alignment with federal security, compliance, and modernization goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Technical Reference Architecture (TRA) using Agile practices (user stories, backlog, ceremonies).
- Define and maintain TRA processes aligned with enterprise architecture standards and federal requirements.
- Partner with senior government and contractor stakeholders to define, document, and mature architecture frameworks.
- Establish and promote reusable design patterns across solution architectures.
- Define and enforce architecture policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with federal security frameworks (e.g., NIST).
- Ensure system and solution compliance with approved architecture standards.
- Drive alignment across business, IT, engineering, and security teams.
- Conduct regular architecture reviews to address emerging technologies and evolving compliance needs.
- Provide architecture guidance across system design, development, transition, and operations.
- Develop training, documentation, and reporting on TRA adoption and effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for architecture-related inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical architecture, enterprise architecture, or related roles.
- Experience supporting large-scale federal IT programs or similarly complex environments.
- Strong understanding of Technical Reference Architecture and its role in governance, security, and system development.
- Familiarity with federal IT standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, SCuBA).
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, DoDAF, FEA).
- Experience with enterprise architecture tools.
- Understanding of data architecture and governance principles.
- Familiarity with cloud environments in federal settings (AWS, Microsoft 365).
- Experience with Zero Trust and federal security compliance frameworks.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, TOGAF, DoDAF).
- Awareness of modernization initiatives and emerging technologies.
