Description
The Adaptive Technology Technician provides specialized support for adaptive technology services under the SEC ISS contract to ensure an accessible, productive end-user computing environment. This role manages and maintains adaptive technology software and hardware, distributes approved solutions to end-user systems, and resolves complex issues escalated beyond service desk support. The technician operates within SEC customer service delivery processes, including ticket tracking, escalation, and SLA-aligned resolution practices. The position also supports user training, needs-based assistive technology support, and accountability for adaptive technology license inventory and reconciliation.

The technician operates within SEC customer service delivery processes, including ticket tracking, escalation, and SLA-aligned resolution practices. The position also supports user training, needs-based assistive technology support, and accountability for adaptive technology license inventory and reconciliation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Adaptive Technology Operations
- Perform daily management and maintenance of adaptive technology components across supported SEC environments.
- Administer and sustain assistive software and hardware solutions to maintain reliable user access.
- Coordinate lifecycle support for adaptive hardware, including provisioning, replacement, and operational readiness checks.
- Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen accessibility support and reduce repeat issues.
Software Distribution and Deployment
- Distribute and deploy adaptive technology software to end-user systems using approved SEC support processes.
- Configure and validate installations, updates, and compatibility for adaptive technology tools.
- Coordinate deployment activities with support teams to ensure minimal user disruption and successful rollout.
- Verify post-deployment functionality and document deployment outcomes in the ticketing system.
Incident and Service Request Resolution
- Troubleshoot complex adaptive technology incidents and service requests requiring SME-level intervention.
- Resolve issues not addressable by service desk personnel and restore user productivity quickly.
- Record, prioritize, and manage incidents and requests through SEC ticket workflows and escalation paths.
- Perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and confirm resolution with end users before closure.
User Enablement and Program Support
- Provide user-focused support for speech recognition, screen readers/magnifiers, text-to-speech, and adaptive peripherals.
- Deliver training and practical guidance tailored to individual user accessibility needs.
- Maintain accurate records for adaptive technology service activity, assets, and deployed licenses.
- Reconcile deployed adaptive technology licenses against SEC-owned licenses and support reporting requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.
- Bachelors degree and 2+ years of experience managing and maintaining adaptive technology in enterprise IT environments. In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.
- Experience distributing adaptive technology software to end-user systems and validating successful implementation.
- Experience troubleshooting user issues and completing problem resolution for adaptive technology incidents and service requests.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting adaptive technology services in a federal agency or similarly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and practical assistive technology implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to create SOPs, knowledge content, and user support documentation.
- Experience tracking adaptive technology assets and license utilization metrics for operational reporting.
