We are seeking a Sr. Maintenance Support Analyst for our client site at JBLM. Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review, log, track and follow-up on requests for weapons logistics assistance to ensure that requirements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide commanders with a single point of contact for weapon sustainment issues.
  • Make sound recommendations when diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing a variety of weapons at the -20 and -30 levels of maintenance.
  • Augment existing maintenance systems to ensure all weapons are properly maintained IAW current manufacturer's recommendations, Army regulations, DoD and local policy, technical publications and general maintenance practices.
  • Inspect, repair and replace components of weapons, to include bolts, stocks, barrels, pistol grips, bolt stock assemblies, barrel assemblies, recoil buffers, upper receivers, feed trays and drive rod assemblies.
  • Repair and replace tripods, bipods and mounts.
  • Operate electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Keep tools and equipment in complete sets and in good working condition.
  • Store tools and equipment properly. Follow safety rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate and understand electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
  • Inspect all weapons upon being turned into the arms room.
  • Interpret/extrapolate technical data, understand the theory and functioning of the weapon and diagnose and repair weapons to a mission-capable standard.
  • Assist the Government with always providing physical security and accountability of unit weapons and arms room keys.
  • In addition to performing -20 and -30 levels of maintenance of SOF specific weapons, MST personnel must be technically competent in performing the same level of maintenance on theater-specific foreign weapons.
  • Attend Government-provided New Equipment Training (NET) as required to maintain proficiency on weapons and accessories as they are fielded.
  • Enhance the operational availability of weapons, weapon systems and accessories.
  • Maintain familiarity with USASOC policies, directives and initiatives.
  • Provide commanders with a single point of contact for weapons sustainment or logistic coordination issues.
  • Assist the Government with following up on and reinforcing guidance issued by the Regimental S4 or USASOC G-4 to the supported units.
  • Support strategic partnerships by providing top-quality advice, facilitating effective knowledge management, and providing technical assistance to project planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting in any collaboration.
  • Prepare work orders or parts requests for the purchase of components or parts needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance as necessary to resolve weapon systems, equipment and systemic logistics problems.
  • Assist the Government with solving readiness issues at unit-level, as well as elevating those issues which cannot be solved at the unit-level.
  • Adapt, invent and implement sound supply and equipment solutions.
  • Analyze equipment readiness, identify problems, determine responsibility, and make recommendations for resolution, and when appropriate, assist with resolution.
  • Receive, review, log, track and follow-up on requests for weapons logistics assistance to ensure that requirements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Enter data into multiple databases or spreadsheets.
  • Ensure consistency and appropriate cross-referencing for both newly entered and previously entered data. Retrieve data and use data to respond to a variety of customer and vendor inquiries.
  • Perform research to determine reasons for patterns of transaction errors and failures.
  • Conduct extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns; assemble retrieved in-formation into different formats to meet different requirements; for example, status reports, unmet customer needs, and other similar areas.
  • Maintain files in accordance with applicable Army, Navy, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • Cross-train with other contracted positions to fill in during absences (specific to exempt/salaried positions.


Qualifications

Requirements
  • Possess a secret security clearance prior to beginning support of this effort and maintain said clearance throughout duration of support of this effort.
  • Have at least one year experience sustaining/repairing SOF specific weapons and accessories to be considered proficient (required); or at least three years of said experience to be considered expert (preferred).
  • Possess skills equal to or greater than Army MOS-91F personnel.
  • Have completed the USASOC SOF specific Weapons Repair Course (previously called the Joint Armorers Course) (preferred) or be willing to obtain this qualification (required). The Government will provide this training for suitable applicants meeting all other requirements, as necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of all steps in the functioning of supported weapons.
  • Knowledge/understanding of AR 700-4, DA PAM 750-8 and other applicable maintenance publications, regulations and guidelines, etc.
  • Be technically knowledgeable of assigned material, Army field maintenance organizations and operations, and the national and retail supply system.
  • Possess active listening and strong communication skills.
  • Represent and uphold professional reputation by maintaining clean appearance, clean working environment and professional demeanor.
  • Always exhibit exceptional customer service by proactively identifying users' needs, answering questions and providing on-site logistics and technical assistance.
  • Aways maintain strong working relationships with supported users, including during field training exercises and deployments.
  • Provide commanders with a single point of contact for weapon sustainment issues
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain appropriate special license/certification for equipment to be operated to include but not limited to: forklifts and 15K truck.
  • Possess excellent work ethics, verbal and written communication skills and be detailed and accurate in performing all administrative and routine functions.
  • Be able to work in an environment that is fast paced while completing multiple tasks and meeting stringent timelines. Be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Be able to write correspondence in a military format, when necessary, such as correspondence using the Army Writing System in accordance AR 25-50.
  • Proficiently use MS Office application software to maintain data and submit reports of varying types and formats via internal management control databases, spreadsheets, and other reporting tools in a variety of program application software.
  • Make effective use of e-mail correspondence with expert knowledge of Outlook E-mail communication programs.
  • Be capable and proficient with verbal communications, both in person and via teleconferences for the purpose of effective coordination with military installation management staff, USASOC staff action officers and non-government agencies as required.
  • Be willing to attend and satisfactorily complete, required training associated with job responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean workspace.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Possess at least 3 years' experience in organizational maintenance and intermediate maintenance (Mechanic Support) or automotive supply and procurement (Maintenance Supply Clerk Support).
  • Be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds or more, bend, sit, stand, reach and move about the facility
