About the Position:

Under general supervision, works in testing, calibration, modification, maintenance, repair and servicing of electrical and fire life safety infrastructure and facility support equipment. Installs electrical devices, wiring, and systems. Monitors and maintains safe operating condition of all electrical systems and related equipment. This job class requires knowledge of federal and state codes, laws and regulations regarding electrical and fire life safety installation, repair, and maintenance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Complies with National Electrical Code and company standards when wiring equipment, following all applicable safety policies and codes.
• Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.
• Uses a variety of electrician's power and hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.
• Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Installs, maintains and operates electrical systems, equipment, and appliances, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, electric gate crossings, signals, switches, or other equipment.
• Locates and diagnoses problems in the electrical system or equipment.
• Records and reports inspections, repairs performed and equipment replaced.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Five (5) years technician/journeyman level commercial experience.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical/wiring principles; building codes, local, state and federal regulations on electrical and fire life safety installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Willing to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and to escalate the more difficult matters appropriately in English. Willing to manage and accurately track material resources and time and adapt to changing work priorities.
• Willing to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance, to work independently and as a team, and to build effective working relationships.
• Willing to manage material resources, changing priorities, workflow, multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willing to work safely and understand all safety requirements and company policy.
• Willing to travel to various facilities.
• Willing of reading and interpret schematics and technical specifications.
• Willing to work under great health risk.
• Good logical sense, critical thinker, and problem solver.
• High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
• High degrees of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for flow of electrical power. Willing to read and write reports.

Education or Equivalent:

• High school diploma, GED.
• Trade school coursework, formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience;

License:

• Valid driver's license required for this position.
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record while in this position. Applicable state(s) electrician license.

Knowledge/Skills Requirement:

• Troubleshoot electrical problems.

• Follow all SOPs, policies, and Statement of Work (SOW).
