Job Description
This role is responsible for instructing personnel on network operations processes, procedures, techniques, and mission-critical skills, with a primary focus on course delivery and training execution. The Watch Officer Trainer participates in course definition and development while leading the delivery of advanced training programs. The position requires staying current with training and development research, learning theory, and modern instructional techniques to enhance training effectiveness.
The candidate will plan, develop, and deliver network operations training programs, integrate real-world adversary tactics into exercises, and support enterprise-wide readiness efforts. Responsibilities include curriculum development, performance analysis, certification tracking, and execution of exercises to ensure personnel meet mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
Deliver instructor-led and blended network operations training to watch officers and cyber personnel.
Support course design, development, and continuous curriculum improvement aligned with mission objectives.
Plan and execute training exercises, including MSEL development and scenario synchronization.
Develop After Action Reports (AARs) and integrate lessons learned into training updates.
Analyze training performance, certification standards, and readiness metrics to improve outcomes.
Maintain training records, databases, and certification tracking systems.
Utilize JTIMS and JLLIS to manage training objectives and lessons learned.
Coordinate training logistics, schedules, and stakeholder engagement.
Support IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) documentation and training-related briefings.
Collaborate with DISA stakeholders to align training with operational requirements.
Provide updates and recommendations to senior leadership on training effectiveness and improvements.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s and 8 - 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6 - 10 years of relevant experience.
Clearance: Active Secret security clearance (required).
Demonstrated experience in network operations management training, cyber operations, or workforce development.
Experience delivering training and supporting course development.
Experience planning and executing exercises and training events.
Strong understanding of network operations management and training frameworks.
Experience tracking training metrics and workforce readiness.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Clearance: Active Top-Secret/SCI.
Experience supporting DISA, DoD Cyber, or CSSP environments.
Knowledge of adversary TTPs and integration into training scenarios.
Familiarity with JTIMS and JLLIS.
Experience with Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) and workforce improvement programs.
Instructional design certification or formal training in adult learning methodologies.
Experience supporting joint or interagency exercises.
Familiarity with ITSCM processes and documentation.
Familiarity with common training platforms (e.g., LMS, virtual training environments, Moodle, Blackboard, DoD training systems, or similar tools).
