Location: Canada/ Remote
Duration: 6 Months
Introduction
The Social Insurance Register (SIR) system is the database that supports the Social Insurance Number (SIN) program. The SIR contains all SINs issued since 1964, along with personal information. The SIR Replacement (SIRR) Project aims to migrate the SIN registry database and applications off the mainframe into a new cloud-based solution by December 2027. The project team is seeking experienced and skilled professionals to join the SIRR Team to successfully deliver this solution by June 2027.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Spring Boot, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, GitHub, Kubernetes (K8s), and OIDC
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Terraform, and Cryptography
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Must Have Security clearance (secret clearance is preferred but Reliability clearance is okay)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale data migration projects
- Knowledge of cloud-based solutions and architecture
- Experience with federal or provincial government projects
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Developing and preparing diagrammatic plans for solution of business, scientific, and technical problems by means of computer systems of significant size and complexity
- Analyzing problems outlined by systems analysts/designers
- Designing detailed programs, flow charts, and diagrams
- Translating detailed flow charts into coded machine instructions
- Verifying accuracy and completeness of programs
- Correcting program errors and testing instructions
