Job Description
The Project Manager will support the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) by planning, organizing, and leading infrastructure and facility-related projects across Misawa Air Base. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with U.S. Air Force and host-nation requirements. The Project Manager evaluates program performance, ensures alignment with mission objectives, and provides data-driven recommendations to improve execution across planning, programming, design, and construction activities within an $80–120M annual portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
Coordinate project activities across planning, design, and construction phases
Manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk to support successful execution
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to drive project outcomes
Assess program and project performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvements
Ensure alignment with Air Force mission objectives and installation priorities
Ensure compliance with U.S. Air Force standards and host-nation (Japan) regulations
Maintain project documentation, reporting, and database tracking systems
Support administrative, financial, and program reporting requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or related field
5+ years of project management or program coordination experience
Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of project management principles (schedule, cost, risk, scope)
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense or Air Force programs
Familiarity with construction, infrastructure, or facilities-related projects
Experience with data tracking systems, reporting tools, or GIS platforms
