Equipment Specialist (Supply)

R&K Enterprise Solutions, Inc. The United States Coast Guard (USCG), The Surface Fores Logistics Center (SFLC), Ice Breaker, Buoy and Construction Tender Product Line (IBCTPL), Engineering Branch, is responsible for the management of Engineering and Logistics for all assigned assets.

R&K has an opportunity to provide the USCG with logistics support services to include Maintenance Development, Maintenance Analysis, System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) Engineering Change (EC) Development and Administrative Support, Configuration Management Data Management, Provisioning, Supply and Discrepancy Support.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Title : Equipment Specialist - Supply

Location : Baltimore, MD, Hybrid (with potential for remote flexibility)

Duration: Permanent/Full-Time

Clearance: Tier 1 (NACI) Investigative Clearance/Background

Start Date: Anticipated start date Sept. 27 th , 2026, contingent upon award.

Duties: The Contractor specializes in marine equipment and machinery: Applies knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in the design, procurement maintenance, modification, and repair of assigned equipment. Assists in the development of technical specifications for all equipment installed on Coast Guard vessels.
  • The Contractor shall provide technical expertise for CG parts and equipment. Knowledge and ability to correctly identify HM&E and ELEX components, materials, and packaging requirements in order to make recommendations to item managers regarding condition of frustrated materials.
  • The Contractor shall provide services in support of planning and arranging for procurement: Prepare for review and approval: statements of work, justifications for other than full and open competition, product specifications, purchase descriptions, and repair descriptions. Assist with market research and preparation of other technical documentation related to procurement actions for equipment.
  • The Contractor shall provide technical recommendations and assistance. Conduct extensive oral and written communication with a variety of internal and external personnel, to include contractors, vendors, and representatives for other organizations. Review for verification vendor ' s compliance with ANSI and ISO 9000 requirements. Conduct reviews for verification of vendor data, such as capabilities for performance evaluations. Provides technical support to Product Line engineers in the administration of a contract.
  • Performs data gathering and market surveys, coordinates meetings with vendors or consulting contractors, and assists in the maintenance of the engineering technical library.
  • The contractor operates local or remote workstations , attached to a large-scale computer network, utilizing installed software to assist in the performance of duties.


Requirements, Relevant Knowledge and/or Skills Required:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of all preferred systems.
  • Physically capable of validating equipment in a shipboard environment which may include climbing stairs and ladders, transiting tight spaces, working in extreme heat, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members, internal and external Coast Guard personnel and work in a team environment, collaborating with others to solve problems and develop innovative solutions often working with a diverse group of people that are geographically dispersed.
  • Ability to clearly speak, read, and write in American English using proper grammar and punctuation. Oral and written communication skills to prepare complete, logically arranged, and legally defensible technical documents for incorporation into contracts are essential. This task involves speaking to a wide variety of people both internal and external to the Coast Guard and in commercial industries that serve the Coast Guard's needs.
  • Working knowledge of varying Coast Guard processes, principles, and tools. These include databases used to review, maintain, and update cutter maintenance records.
  • Required to navigate the following programs to accomplish assigned tasks: FLS, NESSS, CGMS, Web-FLIS, SFLC Knowledge Library App, SMDP, Haystack, Electronic Routing tools, and STIPffiMS. Additional programs or applications may be identified to correctly complete duties.
