HOW AN IT PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Provide technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned projects and tasks.
- Review project statuses, manage schedules, and prepare status reports.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.
- Ensure project scope, schedule, and performance are managed successfully in alignment with organizational and client goals.
- Plan and allocate resources to ensure the smooth execution and delivery of assigned projects/tasks.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with stakeholders, government leads, peers, and leadership.
- Serve as the primary interface and point of contact (POC) with government representatives on technical and operational actions related to the assigned project.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet defined quality and timeline requirements.
- Support networks and associated computing services from requirement identification to service retirement or replacement.
- Apply project management methodologies to facilitate the completion of tasks, ensuring effective tracking and reporting of key milestones and deliverables.
- Provide expert guidance on project management practices and serve as the primary POC for project-related queries.
- Ensure project activities align with customer requirements, facilitate collaboration among team members, and foster accountability to ensure success.
- Monitor performance against project-based Service Level Agreements (SLAs); promptly identify risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education and Training:
- Minimum requirement: High school diploma.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing, coordinating, and completing projects using project management principles.
- Skilled in overseeing multiple complex projects and tasks of varying size and scope.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions and resolve project and technical issues effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring project workflows are managed and completed accurately and on time.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, leadership, and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork while working independently or in fast-paced project environments.
- Adaptability, reliability, and a commitment to continuous learning to address changing project and stakeholder needs.
Required Certifications:
- Must obtain baseline certification compliant with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, within three months of hire. Must obtain a Computing Environment (CE) certification (Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or ITIL ® 4 Foundation or higher certifications within six months of hire. Compliance with DoD 8140 requirements as implemented on the project/contract; certifications must be maintained and updated as required.
Security Clearance:
- Active Secret clearance required at the time of interview, to be maintained during employment.
Location & Work Environment:
- Falls Church, VA.
- Initial onboarding may require up to 60 days of on-site support.
- Hybrid work schedule: Three (3) days on-site with up to two (2) days remote, unless otherwise directed based on mission requirements.
- Limited travel: Up to 10%, including conference attendance twice annually and site visits as needed.
