In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 0101 Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: Behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes provideing essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques. Assists victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment in their effort towards the process of recovery, through advocacy and resource information. Performs crisis intervention, safety planning, referral, ongoing non-clinical support, and furnishing information on available options and resources to assist victims in making informed decisions regarding reporting options and care. Conducts assessments of individuals to determine required needs and evaluates safety and levels of risks. Provides emotional support, guidance, and advice to victims in crisis while addressing the individual's needs and desires. Provides victims with a complete explanation of reporting options and follows DoD and DAF guidelines addressing confidential disclosure and privacy. Maintains contact with agencies that provide such services and remains knowledgeable of their confidentiality policies and the procedures for accessing services of these agencies. Safeguards documents in their possession and all information pertaining to victims' sexual assault/sexual harassment, always mindful of the victims' right to confidentiality. Facilitates or assists in the planning, scheduling, and delivery of sexual assault/sexual harassment response training for all personnel, leadership, deploying personnel, and other key functional stakeholders. Strives to protect the victims' privacy, ensuring only those with an Official Need to Know have the victims' name and related details. Provides initial response services such as access to emergency medical treatment (secondary prevention) and long-term support and care as needed (tertiary prevention). Assists victims in prioritizing actions and establishing short- and long-term goals related to the recovery from sexual assault/sexual harassment. Provides relevant information and discusses available options to help support victims in their recovery/treatment decision making. Ensures victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment receive guidance and support during administrative, medical, investigative, and legal procedures and victims understand the processes involved. Provides assistance in contacting appropriate military and/or civilian legal offices for services. Assist victims with gaining access to service providers and available victim support resources that may help victims explore avenues of actions. Coordinates guest speakers, arranges announcements and marketing, and coordinates logistics for the various training activities. Works collaboratively with the others to support and promote prevention activities related to sexual assault and interpersonal violence. Works collaboratively with other officials to support and promote prevention activities related to sexual harassment, sexist attitudes, and beliefs contributing to the continuum of harm. Assists in the initial and periodic refresher training of Volunteer Victim Advocates or other trainers. Reviews current Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) or Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) to ensure they effectively meet the victims' and program's needs.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a major directly related to the position of Violence Prevention Integrator. This education was received from an accredited University, College, etc. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault/sexual harassment.
2. Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence.
3. Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/sexual harassment
4. Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault/sexual harassment training.
5. Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance.
6. Ability to employ various methods and techniques typical of a sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocate program, including crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing the needs of the victim to provide support and/or assistance to them in the resolution of complex problems.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

- Serves as an installation Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Victim Advocate.
- Maintains support and follow-up contact with sexual assault/sexual harassment victims throughout the lifecycle of the case.
- Assists the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault/sexual harassment training.
- Represents the SAPR installation program both military and civilian agencies.
