The Administrative Assistant II will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Asthma and Air Quality Branch within DEHSP. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities, supporting program operations, and ensuring efficient execution of administrative processes in a fast-paced public health environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while supporting both routine and ad hoc program needs.

Administrative Assistant II Responsibilities Include:
• Coordinate day-to-day administrative activities in support of branch operations
• Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics for internal and external engagements
• Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and track action items and follow-ups
• Coordinate federal travel arrangements in accordance with CDC guidelines, including travel authorizations and vouchers
• Support conference, meeting, and event logistics as needed
• Maintain organized records, files, and documentation in compliance with CDC and HHS standards
• Assist with preparation, formatting, and review of reports, correspondence, and presentations
• Track administrative tasks, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely completion
• Support workflow coordination across multiple stakeholders and task areas
• Assist with onboarding activities and administrative processes for staff
• Serve as a point of contact for administrative inquiries and coordinate follow-ups with internal and external partners
• Support program tracking and reporting activities as needed
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all administrative deliverables
• Support process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and organization of administrative functions
Administrative Assistant II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent relevant experience)
• Minimum of 2-5 years of administrative or program support experience
• Experience supporting federal or government environments preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with federal travel processes or systems preferred
• Familiarity with records management and compliance-driven environments preferred
• Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
