Job Description

PDS is seeking a MBSE Tools Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Denver, CO surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $

**US Citizenship is required.**

**Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**

As an MBSE Tools Engineer, you will own the backend systems, server environments, and integrations that support Cameo Systems Modeler, Teamwork Cloud, and related modeling tools. You are the person who makes sure the modeling environment works when engineers need it. That means server administration, access management, version control, integration with PLM, and making sure the toolchain scales as our team and model complexity grow.

This is not a systems engineering role. You will not be building SysML models or writing requirements. This is a tools engineering role focused on keeping the MBSE platform healthy, integrated, and available. You should understand MBSE concepts well enough to support the engineers who use these tools, but your primary job is infrastructure and tooling, not modeling. This role sits within the IT Engineering team and reports to the Head of IT. You will work closely with the systems engineering team, IT, and vendor partners.

Responsibilities :
  • Administer and maintain Teamwork Cloud (TWC) server environments, including installation, upgrades, user and project management, access controls, and backup/recovery procedures
  • Manage Cameo Systems Modeler deployments across the engineering organization, including client installation, licensing, plugin management, and version compatibility
  • Build and maintain integrations between the MBSE toolchain and adjacent systems, particularly Siemens Teamcenter (via PROSTEP OpenPDM, HCLTech connector, or similar middleware) for bidirectional traceability between system models and PLM data
  • Monitor Teamwork Cloud performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and optimize server and database configurations to support growing model complexity and concurrent user loads
  • Manage MBSE tool licensing infrastructure, track utilization, and plan capacity to support team growth
  • Develop and maintain automation for routine MBSE platform tasks: environment provisioning, health checks, model migration scripts, and deployment processes
  • Support systems engineers with tooling questions, environment issues, and workflow troubleshooting without owning the modeling content itself
  • Document system architectures, integration configurations, and operational runbooks for MBSE infrastructure
  • Coordinate with security and compliance teams to ensure MBSE environments meet ITAR, CMMC, and data classification requirements
  • Evaluate and pilot new MBSE-adjacent tools, plugins, or platform capabilities as the systems engineering practice matures

Basic Hiring Criteria :
  • Minimum 3 years of experience administering Cameo Systems Modeler and/or Teamwork Cloud in a production environment, including server deployment, upgrades, and user management
  • Working understanding of SysML, MBSE concepts, and how systems engineers use modeling tools day-to-day (sufficient to support users and troubleshoot environment issues, not to build models)
  • Experience with enterprise Java application server administration (Teamwork Cloud runs on Cassandra and custom Java services), including monitoring, log analysis, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with integration middleware or connectors that link modeling tools with PLM systems (PROSTEP OpenPDM, OSLC, or similar)
  • Scripting and automation skills in Python, bash, or PowerShell for administrative tasks and toolchain maintenance
  • Experience managing Linux server environments (Teamwork Cloud typically runs on Linux)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, database, and infrastructure layers
  • U.S. citizenship (required for ITAR compliance)

Desired Qualifications :
  • Experience with Apache Cassandra database administration (the backend datastore for Teamwork Cloud)
  • Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter and its integration points with MBSE tools
  • INCOSE-affiliated certifications (ASEP, CSEP) or equivalent systems engineering exposure
  • Experience supporting MBSE tooling in aerospace, defense, or government-regulated environments
  • Familiarity with OSLC (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration) standards for tool integration
  • Experience with Zuken E3 or other ECAD tools and their integration with systems modeling environments
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (DoD 8140 IAT Level II)
  • Active U.S. security clearance at Secret level or above, or ability to obtain one
  • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) for application hosting

Benefits offered to vary by the contract. Depending on your temporary assignment, benefits may include direct deposit, free career counseling services, 401(k), select paid holidays, short-term disability insurance, skills training, employee referral bonus, affordable medical coverage plan, and DailyPay (in some locations).
