Position Summary

The Prisma SD-WAN Consultant (EEC) serves as the senior technical Subject Matter Expert for customer SD-WAN environments deployed on Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN (formerly CloudGenix). This consultant leads architecture design, deployment execution, MPLS-to-SD-WAN migrations, policy optimization, and automation initiatives across enterprise networks. The role is customer-facing and requires the ability to operate independently on complex engagements with minimal oversight.

This position requires deep hands-on experience with Prisma SD-WAN ION devices, Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama, routing protocols, cloud networking, and automation tooling. The Consultant is expected to produce high-quality technical documentation, lead customer workshops and knowledge transfers, and deliver measurable outcomes across multi-site deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect Prisma SD-WAN solutions including hub-spoke, mesh, and hybrid WAN topologies for enterprise customers
• Deploy, provision, and configure ION devices (1000, 2000, 3000, 7000, 9000 series) across branch and data center environments
• Lead end-to-end MPLS-to-SD-WAN migration projects, including site assessment, cutover planning, and post-migration validation
• Configure application-aware routing policies, path selection rules, and Quality of Service (QoS) to optimize traffic flows
• Integrate Prisma SD-WAN with Prisma Access to deliver full SASE solutions including service connections, remote networks, and ZTNA
• Manage Panorama-based policy orchestration and CloudBlades integrations across customer environments
• Develop automation workflows using Python, Terraform, Ansible, and Prisma SD-WAN APIs to streamline provisioning and operations at scale
• Produce technical deliverables including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), Statements of Work (SOW), and operational runbooks
• Conduct customer workshops, knowledge transfer sessions, and best-practices training for NOC and engineering teams
• Troubleshoot complex SD-WAN, routing, and security issues in production environments and provide root cause analysis

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering with a focus on SD-WAN technologies
• Deep technical expertise with Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN (CloudGenix), including ION device deployment, policy configuration, and path selection
• Strong proficiency with Palo Alto NGFW platforms and Panorama for centralized management, App-ID, User-ID, and security policy administration
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPsec, and GRE in production environments
• Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS Transit Gateway, Azure vWAN/VNet, GCP) and hybrid connectivity models
• Proficiency with automation and scripting tools such as Python, Terraform, and Ansible for network provisioning and configuration management
• Demonstrated experience producing enterprise-grade technical documentation (HLD, LLD, runbooks, SOWs)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and executive audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at a Palo Alto Networks Partner, Value-Added Reseller (VAR), or Managed Services Provider (MSP)
• Combined Prisma SD-WAN and Prisma Access deployment experience delivering integrated SASE solutions
• Large-scale enterprise SD-WAN migration experience across 50-500+ branch sites
• Relevant certifications: PCNSE, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, AWS/Azure networking certifications
• Consulting background with experience managing customer engagements independently from scoping through delivery

Required Skills

• SD-WAN Architecture and Design: Ability to architect and deploy Prisma SD-WAN topologies across complex enterprise environments with multiple transport types and high-availability requirements
• Routing and Network Engineering: Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and IPsec with the ability to troubleshoot complex routing issues in production
• Security Platform Proficiency: Ability to configure and manage Palo Alto NGFW, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and Prisma Access for integrated security and connectivity
• Automation and Scripting: Ability to develop and maintain automation workflows using Python, Terraform, Ansible, and vendor APIs to drive operational efficiency
• Technical Documentation: Ability to produce clear, detailed HLDs, LLDs, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for enterprise customers
• Customer-Facing Communication: Ability to lead technical workshops, present architectural recommendations, and translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
• Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing customer requirements, project scopes, and technology stacks in a dynamic consulting environment
