Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a MEP Superintendent to support a large-scale federal energy infrastructure project in Concord, CA. The MEP Superintendent will play a critical role in overseeing field operations, subcontractor performance, and construction execution for a multimillion-dollar power generation initiative. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in MEP systems, and the ability to manage complex construction activities in a regulated environment. This role is fully onsite in Concord, CA.
Responsibilities of the MEP Superintendent include:
• Provide onsite supervision of subcontractors and manage daily field construction activities
• Support the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of project work and critical path activities
• Oversee installation of MEP systems to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
• Develop and manage project schedules, sequencing, and logistics plans
• Monitor project progress, productivity, and material deliveries while coordinating updates with stakeholders
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, codes, and safety regulations
• Provide regular project updates, reports, and documentation to internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, federal/local regulations, and industry best practices
• Support quality control and assurance efforts across all construction phases
Qualifications of the MEP Superintendent include:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 10+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years in a superintendent or similar leadership role
• Strong experience in commercial or government construction environments
• Demonstrated expertise in MEP systems with increasing levels of responsibility
• Proven ability to lead field operations and manage subcontractor performance
• Experience with construction scheduling, contract administration, and manpower planning
• Knowledge of quality control processes and construction best practices
• Strong communication, organizational, and technical documentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with Procore or similar project management tools
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, building codes, and engineering practices
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
• Ability to review and handle sensitive or confidential project information
Preferred Qualifications:
• OSHA 30-hour Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Familiarity with EM-385-1-1 standards
• USACE or NAVFAC QC/QA certifications
Compensation for the MEP Superintendent includes:
• Salary: $101,000 - $146,000 (depending on experience)
