Linux Systems & Network Engineer

McLeansville, NC

Pay Estimated: $38.27 - $43.27/Hour

Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance

This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Support engineering development and program maintenance environments
• Perform Linux system administration (installation, hardening, patching, scanning, and troubleshooting)
• Configure and maintain Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, NICs)
• Design and implement secure network architectures for small-to-medium environments
• Lead and support Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity efforts
• Execute vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance activities aligned with DoD standards
• Perform hands-on infrastructure work including cabling, rack & stack, and hardware installs
• Conduct network troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Support project planning, cost analysis, and vendor evaluations
• Maintain clear technical documentation and reporting
• Collaborate across engineering teams while managing multiple concurrent priorities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify process enhancements
• Travel up to 10% (domestic/international) as needed

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Bachelor's degree in a related field + 2+ years experience, OR Master's degree
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Linux System Administration (installation, hardening, patching)
• Cisco networking (configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance)
• Network architecture (LANs, routers, NICs, infrastructure design)
• Cybersecurity & compliance: RMF, STIGs, vulnerability scanning/remediation
• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure deployment (servers, devices, cabling)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications:
  
  • RHCSA (Linux)
  • Security+, Network+, or equivalent
  • CISSP (advanced)
  • CCNP (Cisco)
  • Server+, Linux+
• Experience supporting DoD or regulated environments
