SAIC is seeking a Dev Ops SW Engineer, who has CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Development) experience. This is a fully remote position.
Works as a senior member of a software engineering and DevOps team, owning and enhancing the organization's CI/CD pipelines and delivery processes throughout the full software development lifecycle. Collaborates with development, QA, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain automated, reliable, and scalable build, test, integration, and deployment workflows. Utilizes agile methodologies to enable fast, secure, and high-quality software releases, including automated testing, artifact management, and production deployments.
Analyzes and optimizes pipeline performance, troubleshoots integration and deployment issues, implements best practices for version control, branching strategies, and infrastructure as code (IaC). Develops and maintains scripts, tools, and configurations to automate processes across cloud and containerized environments, ensuring compliance, security, and observability in deployments.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ yrs experience in software development, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering (with significant focus on CI/CD and automation) or Bachelors and six (years) or more of related experience.
- Experience working on an agile software team, including participation in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- DoD 8570 certification in IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA SSCP, Cisco CCNA Security, EC-Council CND, GIAC GICSP, GIAC GSEC) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Strong experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications, including container orchestration basics (e.g., Kubernetes preferred but not required).
- Deep experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (or similar tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy, or similar) for pipeline development and tooling.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies in a collaborative environment.
- US Citizen and active Secret Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AWS DevOps Engineer certification (or equivalent in Azure/GCP DevOps).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. - Advanced knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools integrated into CI/CD (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Datadog).
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and integration into pipelines (unit, integration, security scanning, performance).
- Experience supporting deployments in regulated or secure environments (e.g., DoD, government systems).
- Familiarity with tools such as GitLab Runners, ArgoCD, Helm, or similar for advanced deployment automation.
- Background in PHP-based applications or Learning Management Systems (LMS)/Learning Record Stores (LRS) is a plus but not required.
