ISN is seeking a Research Analyst, who will be assigned to a client site in Winchester, VA. As a Research Analyst, you will assist a federal agency in conducting investigation case information and preparing relevant reports based on information gleaned using your critical and analytical skills. Your skills will be used to author reports that federal agencies can use to determine an applicant's worthiness for employment, access to federal facilities, and immigration benefit. Ultimately, you will be supporting programs within the United States and its defense against foreign and domestic threats to our nation's security.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong organizational skills to track multiple active work items simultaneously.
  • Attend mandatory new-hire and recurring refresher trainings as required by the government.
  • Complete all government-required, yearly trainings.
  • Access, search, and review government systems to locate records identified to vetting request subjects
  • Conduct in-depth research on individuals using Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to determine if additional records exist within agency databases or partner systems Identify and document associates of individuals who may pose national security threats
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal agency offices to support research, clarify records, and ensure accuracy of findings.
  • Develop and submit written summaries and reports in accordance with SOPs, or close requests that do meet established reporting thresholds.
  • Redact sensitive or protected information from reports in compliance with relative laws, regulations, policies, court orders, and SOPs.
  • Manage, review, and process work items in alignment with system-set priorities, maintaining first-in, first-out (FIFO) workflow when applicable.
  • Perform quality control reviews of documents prepared by other analysts for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with defined reporting standards
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all searches, determinations, and analyst judgements, including detailed notes justifying case decisions.
  • Complete general administrative tasks when necessary to support the execution and documentation of analytical support services.


Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills to assess if information is identifiable and derogatory, preferably within a security clearance, law enforcement, or intelligence context.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and extract key information that might be relevant to risk assessments or background investigations.
  • Report writing experience, specifically the ability to draft clear, concise, and well-supported findings in formal report formats.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly and accurately draft detailed findings and reports for submission to relevant agencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations and policies.
  • Bachelor's degree, OR three (3) or more years of experience with knowledge of administrative principles, practices and techniques
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
