Job Description
Siemens Government Technologies is seeking a Building Controls System Specialist to support the execution of a managed services project for a long-term and progressive U.S. Government customer in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the maintenance, repair, expansion, and upgrade of a large campus-wide HVAC building controls system
• Create/Modify PPCL programs, databases, graphics, trending, reports, and alarms
• Support the verification of system intent, proper network performance, and consistency with sequences of operation
• Startup and commissioning of Building Automation System equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair/replace field wiring and sensors, perform modifications to MBC’s and PXC’s, and troubleshoot P1 & P2 trunks
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and point-to-point checkouts per standard procedures to ensure issues are detected early and resolved before the equipment fails
• Perform root cause analysis of HVAC controls systems malfunctions while striving for continuous improvement and making recommendations to the customer
• Work closely with installation subcontractors and coordinate work with them to ensure projects are completed on-time and per code, standards and contractual requirements.
• Perform software/hardware calibration required for proper equipment and system operation
• Assist with data back-up from data servers and the creation of automated back-up procedures.
• Assist with the set-up and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces.
• Provide customer training on system operations.
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Five or more (5+) years’ experience with commercial HVAC/building automation controls and knowledge of AHU’s, chiller plants, and complex fan systems
• Open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP Ethernet and networking
• Training in basics of mechanical or HVAC equipment from a technical school or certifications received during training classes from industry vendors
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, building drawings, and technical guides
• Ability to effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers
• Interpersonal skills; telephone skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; must be able to perform inspection of work and must know the status of all work
• Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing
• Must be able and willing to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted.
• Individual must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school
• Factory training on Siemens’s APOGEE “Insight” software or Desigo CC, and DXR or TEC startup & troubleshooting
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Siemens Control Systems
• Experience with US Federal Government projects, contracts, policies, and procedures
• Significant experience with programming languages such as PPCL, C or C++, and Basic.

•Candidate must be a United States Citizen legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Candidate must have an active L or Q security clearance prior to being hired, or able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to hire.
