Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Administrator to support The Department of Defense, US Army, Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) G6, to provide Information Technology (IT) services and Digital Trainer support for the CASCOM and its subordinate organizations, which include the Army Logistics University (ALU), and the Ordnance (OD), Quartermaster (QM), and Transportation Corps (TC) schools.
The G-6 mission is comprehensive and includes computer and IT support for Department of the Army (DA) civilians, contractors, and permanent party military personnel.
Responsibilities:
Perform system and server backups and restoration of systems/servers as required. Backups will be performed in accordance with CASCOM and NETCOM policies and procedures. This shall be accomplished transparently to the users. Ensure the redundant file system structure (integral parts of some operating/network systems) operate efficiently to ensure the data is current and accurate. Ensure that archived data and media is documented and handled in accordance with CASCOM and NETCOM policies and procedures.
Perform server administration to include the administration of file, web, SQL, or printer servers. Administrative duties shall include, but are not limited to, installation, configuration, set-up, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and decommissioning of servers and associated equipment and hardware. Contractor employees shall also create and service accounts and server data repository.
Responsible for systems analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting, Information Assurance (IA) initiatives, and system mitigation and transition strategies.
Functional areas of system support include a suite of systems and servers to include stand-alone or live supply, maintenance, transportation, command and control databases, maps, VLANs, active directory controls, user accounts, cleanup of servers, database resets, and rebuilds of server and system images.
Experience in DoD architectures and communications initiatives (I.e., tactical networks, and commercial satellite communications, LAN, systems administration, configuration management tools and techniques, and the knowledge and experience setting up and managing software testing labs).
Share Point, SQL Server 2019, and Active Directory planning and implementation.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
• Eight (8) years related experience as a Server Administrator.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting Microsoft, Solaris, or other server-based environment in a Server/Systems Administrator position.
• Must have experience in deploying systems in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• SA-Minimum of three (3) or more years of specialized experience working with Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA).
Required Clearance
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
