Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Windows/Linux System Administrator to support a mission-critical enterprise communications program based in Annapolis Junction, MD . This position is a full time 100% onsite due to operational and security requirements. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of enterprise telephony systems that operate in a 24x7x365 environment. As a Windows/Linux Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining highly available voice infrastructure, supporting call center technologies, and ensuring compliance with strict security and uptime standards.

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Windows/Linux System Administrator to support a mission-critical enterprise communications program based in Annapolis Junction, MD . This position is a full time 100% onsite due to operational and security requirements. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of enterprise telephony systems that operate in a 24x7x365 environment. As a Windows/Linux Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining highly available voice infrastructure, supporting call center technologies, and ensuring compliance with strict security and uptime standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support enterprise telephony systems across multiple programs, including hardware, software, peripherals, and call applications such as WFO/WFM, CMS, and call recording platforms.
- Install, configure, operate, monitor, and maintain enterprise infrastructure, including:
- Web servers (e.g., IIS)
- Application servers
- Telecom hardware (e.g., Dell PowerEdge servers, Avaya J-Series phones)
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to:
- Telephony platforms
- Windows and Linux server environments
- Network connectivity and integrations with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, networking, and security teams to deliver telephony solutions that ensure:
- High availability
- Call quality
- Compliance with security and performance standards
- Apply regular and emergency patches to Windows and Linux systems to maintain security and compliance.
- Perform system upgrades and migrations, including planning, testing, and execution.
- Conduct routine system health checks and preventive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to address audit findings and implement remediation actions.
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule and meet recall requirements to support systems requiring continuous uptime.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission objectives.
Requirements:
- Active Secret Security Clearance (required)
- Due to contract requirements, dual citizenship candidates cannot be considered
- Minimum 7 years of experience supporting telephony systems in a systems administrator or engineer role
- Experience with Windows and Linux Server environments, including installation, patching, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with enterprise telephony platforms, including Avaya systems
- Experience supporting call recording, workforce optimization (WFO), and workforce management (WFM) applications
- Strong experience with VMware environments, including:
- ESXi and vCenter
- System installation and upgrades
- Troubleshooting
- ESXi certificate management
- Networking experience, including:
- IPv4 / IPv6
- Ports and protocols
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with security vulnerability remediation and validation in Windows and Linux environments
- Proficiency in managing and monitoring infrastructure, including telephony peripherals and server systems
- Working knowledge of client/server certificate management
- Experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy
- Ability to work onsite daily and within a commutable distance
- Willingness and ability to support 24x7x365 operations, including on-call rotation
Compensation:
- $75,000 - $92,000 *based on experience*
- PTO, Paid Holidays, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as required by Law
