Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility and Full Scope Polygraph – Required
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support large-scale government programs in a highly classified environment. This role involves administering enterprise Linux and virtualized systems while adhering to strict cybersecurity and compliance standards. You will work with cutting-edge technologies alongside a highly skilled team supporting critical national security missions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
5+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration in an SCI-classified environment
VMware vSphere / ESXi 6.x or newer configuration and management experience
Active Directory administration and Group Policy (GPO) experience
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP)
Ability to support after-hours and weekend operations as required
Primary Responsibilities
Perform Linux System Administration on large government contracts
Administer and support VMware virtualization technologies
Maintain reliable operation of multi-user systems in coordination with:
Network, software, and system engineers
Desktop technicians
Project managers, end users, and IT leadership
Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance, reliability, and security
Perform system patching, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration management
Manage backups, recovery operations, file systems, disk space, and virus protection
Create, modify, and maintain user and computer accounts, permissions, and access controls
Test and validate new software releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact
Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and procedures
Interface with vendors to troubleshoot issues and evaluate products and services
Ensure compliance with all Information Systems Security requirements
Maintain security audit logs per ISSM direction
Prepare required security documentation for Cybersecurity teams
Nice‑to‑Have / Preferred Qualifications
Degree in a STEM-related discipline
Experience operating within NISPOM Chapter 8, RMF, ICD 503, DCID 6/3, JAFAN, or JSIG
NAS storage administration experience (preferably NetApp ONTAP 8.x+ / CDOT)
Enterprise storage knowledge including RAID architectures
Linux hardening and vulnerability remediation using STIGs and RMF
Host-based firewall configuration (e.g., iptables)
Identity Management / Single Sign-On experience
Windows 10 and Windows Server administration
Experience with Splunk, Tenable, Nessus, VMware and NetApp maintenance and upgrades
Strong documentation skills using Wiki and SharePoint
Additional DoD 8570 certifications (Linux, Windows, or network platforms)
