Senior Data Engineer
Role Overview
Our Data engineers partner directly with customers and globally distributed teams to support the day‑to‑day operation of deployed data platforms. These systems underpin critical operational workflows, and this role applies problem‑solving, creativity, and technical expertise to ensure platform stability, data availability, and application reliability. The role provides exposure to complex, real‑world problems across mission‑driven industries and institutions.
Data Engineering and Pipeline Support (approximately 25%)
Configure and maintain data transfers from source systems into analytics and processing environments
Onboard and integrate new data sources using platform ingestion tools
Diagnose and resolve issues related to delayed, incomplete, or missing data feeds
Develop transformations and generate derived datasets to support downstream use cases
Monitor data pipeline builds and troubleshoot execution failures
Leverage distributed compute frameworks (e.g., Spark) for large‑scale data processing
Application Development and Operational Support (approximately 75%)
Design and build applications using an internal application development framework to address operational and analytical questions
Work in rapid development and iteration cycles alongside subject‑matter experts
Test, debug, and resolve application‑level issues in production and pre‑production environments
Investigate and answer data‑related questions arising from application usage and user needs
