- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

- Physical Effort: The incumbent exerts moderate to heavy physical effort while performing duties on benches, on level or uneven floors, and in cramped, confined, or awkward work areas. The role requires continuous standing and walking, with frequent bending, stretching, reaching, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of ladders, scaffolds, or platforms. The worker must be capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. In addition to working under structures or in elevated positions, the incumbent is exposed to hazards ever-present when working with electricity, carpentry power tools, and the various tools of the masonry, plumbing, and mechanical trades. Safety protocols must be maintained while performing these tasks in diverse environments to mitigate risks associated with the trade crafts involved.
- Working Conditions: The incumbent works in both indoor and outdoor environments, with frequent exposure to inclement weather and rapid temperature fluctuations. The work is typically performed in conditions that are dirty, dusty, or greasy. Duties performed from elevated surfaces, such as scaffolds, ladders, and rooftops, carry a risk of falls and significant injury. The worker is consistently exposed to hazards including cuts from hand and power tools, as well as flying debris (e.g., splinters, metal, and paint chips). Additional risks include exposure to sharp edges, physical strains, scrapes, and infections. Furthermore, the position involves potential for electrical shock when servicing circuits, as well as burns from soldering irons, torches, and various painting or cleaning chemicals.
