TRAINING SPECIALIST SENIOR - Elerctronics Technician - Exterior Communications (XCOM) Trainer

Our work depends on the Training Specialists joining our team to deliver complex technical and tactical training to sailors enrolled in courses taught at Surface Combat Systems Training Command-Hampton Roads (SCSTC-HR) Norfolk, Virginia.
HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST SR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
• Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel
• Utilizes exceptional customer skills to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support technical and laboratory training supporting Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) and other supporting XCOM systems
• Work as a team member to identify learning gaps and train student Electronic Technicans in the knowledge and skills required to operate and repair U.S. Navy exterior communication systems.
• Work as a team member to complete customer deadlines which may have competing/shifting priorities
• Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC-HR courses supporting exterior communication systems
• Conduct dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to supervise preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance of exterior communications equipment and components, including the use of applicable technical reference material
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Required Experience: Seven (7) years of experience as an Navy Electronics Technician as either a maintenance techician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility of teaching exterior communications equipment to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the seven (7) years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems is required. Technical experience as a Navy NEC coded UHF technician a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.

• Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills and experience as a Navy instructor (NEC 805A/9502)
• Preferred Skills: Master Training/Afloat Training Specialist
